“LANSING, Mich. — The Michigan Civil Service Commission has decided to allow benefits for domestic partners of state employees.
Previously, only legal spouses were allowed benefits from the state.
A spokeswoman for Equality Michigan, a lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender advocacy and anti-violence organization, said in a news release Monday that the organization applauds the commission’s decision.”
