Michigan Citizen Action proudly convenes the D.I.I.M.E. coalition that is made up of victims and activists who have one goal in mind: reverse Michigan’s cruel and unjust drug industry immunity law.
Update – 7.24.09
The Michigan Senate has postponed a floor vote on HB 4316, 4317, 4318, the Drug Industry Immunity Repeal bills until October 3, 2009. D.I.I.M.E. needs your help in telling Sen. Majority Leader Michael Bishop to schedule a vote on October 3, 2009.
TELL SEN. BISHOP: FIGHT FOR PEOPLE, NOT PROFITS! We are calling on you to join us to tell Senate Majority Leader Mike Bishop to bring the drug immunity repeal to a vote. Consider these important points:
- Since 1996, Michigan citizens whose live have been destroyed by dangerous drugs have been denied the power to hold drug companies accountable.
- Michigan is the only state in the nation that gives drug companies a get-out-of-jail-free card.
- Michigan residents should not be treated like second-class citizens. We must stand up to the powerful drug companies and bring an end to Michigan’s unfair immunity law.
- Senate Majority Leader Mike Bishop stated on April 20, 2009 that he plans to act as a ‘stopper’ for the repeal bill. This cannot happen – we must make sure that Senator Bishop stands up for people and not profits.
